Neal Court consultation (now closed)

This is the consultation page for the development at Neal Court in Hertford. This consultation ran from Wednesday 3 March to Monday 15 March 2021 and is now closed.

Neal Court in Hertford was originally built as a supported housing scheme but no longer houses the original client group. The proposals offer high quality new homes for the site and will contribute to much-needed family homes in Hertford.

We will work closely with existing residents to ensure their housing needs are met. Residents will not need to do anything until January 2022.

About the scheme

Neal Court is owned by Network Homes and currently comprises a two-storey building providing 14 bedsits, communal facilities, a small site office, resident parking and landscaped gardens.

The proposal comprises 16 residential homes for Affordable Rent and Shared Ownership. The tenure mix may be subject to further consideration prior to the submission of a planning application. It consists of a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom homes, with associated amenity space and landscaping, car parking, cycle storage and refuse storage. Three of the units are 3 bedroom, family sized homes.

The proposed buildings are predominantly three storeys in height, dropping down to two storeys in part, respecting the building heights of surrounding properties.

A total of 19 car parking spaces will be provided along with a secure and covered cycle store which can accommodate 16 cycle spaces. The proposal also includes 2 wheelchair parking bays. Each home will benefit from their own private balcony or garden as well as access to communal amenity space.

Residents will be able to enjoy a new courtyard garden, which includes landscaping, tree planting and play space provision.
