The Scrutiny Panel is a group of our residents who conduct investigations into Network Homes’ services. The panel completes detailed reports of their findings and produces recommendations to ensure that our organisation is providing a housing service that meets the needs of our customers and is constantly improving.
Recommendations are received by either the Local Panel or the Network Homes Panel, depending on the investigation.
How does the Scrutiny Panel conduct its activities?
The Scrutiny Panel uses several activities to gather information into our services. These include:
- Focus groups
- Review of Network Homes policy and procedure
- Best practice visits
- Contacting industry experts
- Site visits
- Commissioning of Resident Quality Inspections and Mystery Shopping
Who can become a Scrutiny Panel member?
The Scrutiny Panel is open to people who are:
- A Network Homes resident committed to improving our services – we are looking to attract residents of all ages and backgrounds
- Able to work objectively and challenge constructively
- Able to show strong written and verbal communication skills, and write reports
- Able to work as a team
- Able to attend a four day training course
- Able to commit to two projects a year, one local and one group-wide, which will take approximately 6-10 contact days
- Able to commit to additional time spent reading
