Kacey Brown, Internal Audit and Risk Manager

What do you do at Network Homes?

I work within the Finance and Governance Directorate as an Internal Audit and Risk Manager and have been with Network for close to 10 years. I'm responsible for carrying out Internal Audit reviews and investigations as well as cover risk management.

What do you enjoy most about working at Network Homes?

The culture and people that work here are fantastic. There are a number of great benefits including Perkbox (discounts for shops), contributory pension, two volunteering days a year and professional training from Mary Gober International.  There’s also the benefits of Michael Heppell’s ‘how to be brilliant’ ethos which has helped to transform the way we all work together so everyone has the skills to provide a first class customer service.

What makes Network Homes a great organisation to you?

Network Homes is constantly changing, improving and evolving for the benefit of its residents and customers. There are plenty of opportunities to grow and develop within your role and move across to alternative positions in the organisation. Line managers are very supportive and encourage work shadowing, secondments and opportunities to stretch and challenge yourself in your role.

How has working at Network Homes helped you develop your career?

I started at Network Homes as a Senior Internal Auditor and made the step up to a management role which I enjoy. New managers have a specially tailored training programme run by external consultants to help us understand our management styles and how to adapt to different situations. I’m also a Gober Guru and Harts and Minds Ambassador which has helped stretch my presentation skills.  In these additional roles I’ve been involved in preparing and being filmed for internal training videos for staff. These short and sharp five minute films provide lots of helpful hints and tips about how we can change and adapt to provide a first class customer service to our customers and colleagues.

What’s the one thing you would like applicants to know about working here?

Network Homes has an annual Learning and Development Training Plan which provides us with plenty of opportunities to expand our knowledge and learn new skills. This has helped me and my colleagues to grow and develop our career further.  The Wembley office is also opposite the London Designer Outlet, so great for lunchtime opportunities and shopping!
