What do you do at Network Homes?

I'm a Resident Engagement Officer in the Resident team. I work with customers to shape and improve the service Network Homes provides.

What do you enjoy most about working at Network Homes?

The family mentality that runs through the organisation makes me feel welcome and passionate to be part of a great team. The One Team mentality helps me get through the challenging days while still having a smile on my face because I know there is a lot of support and HART throughout the company.

My role allows me to find innovative and creative ways to interact with the public to see what they want us to do to deliver first class customer service, by constantly challenging other teams to be better than they were yesterday.

What makes Network Homes a great organisation to you?

Network Homes embraces skills we have outside of our day to day role to make working here more enjoyable, such as being a member of the Social Club and baking for charity at any given opportunity to give something back to the wider community. The organisation also truly cares about its staff, there’s a wide range of training opportunities, wellbeing activities and occasions to come together outside of the workplace to relax and enjoy your colleagues’ company.

How has working at Network Homes helped you develop your career?

There are great training programmes at Network Homes. I was a mentee in the Housing Diversity Network (HDN) Mentoring Programme which helped me step out of my comfort zone and volunteer for various opportunities at Network Homes.  This includes delivering training to colleagues as a Harts and Minds Ambassador and chairing the formal body that represents staff. The investment Network Homes has in the continuous professional development of staff pushes me to constantly improve myself and not be afraid to try new things or challenge decisions respectfully that could affect staff or our customers.

What’s the one thing you would like applicants to know about working here?

The diversity at Network Homes reflects our customer base which is very encouraging for hopes of promotion based on merit and knowledge. Strong characters and good role models exist throughout every level of the organisation which breeds a stronger workforce that respects the unique qualities each team member brings to the organisation. It’s always great to see colleagues move up in the organisation or change to their dream role here, always sharing knowledge with colleagues and coaching the new starters.
