  • Construction Skills Course

    Work Zone are running a two Week Construction Skills Course as a routeway into construction jobs at the Shepherd Bush Job Centre.

    Benefits

    • Earn £9+ p.h. as a skilled construction professional

  • Apprentice Level 3 Nursery Assistant

    An early years day nursery in Harrow is looking for a Level 3 Nursery Assistant. The nursery is for babies, toddlers, and pre-school children, with an emphasis on high-quality traditional care and development

    The candidate will need to be passionate about working with children in a setting where listening and communication skills are paramount. 

    Skills Required: 

    • GCSEs A*- C in English, Maths and ICT desirable
    • Willingness to undertake further training
    • Some experience of working with young children.

They have a long standing established setting and candidates need to be reliable and committed.

    The candidate must have experience and should already hold a Level 2 Childcare qualification.

  • Trainee Site Manager

    Denmark & White Ltd are offering a job opportunity as a Trainee Site Manager to our local residents in Ware, Hertfordshire. Candidates will be involved in supporting and assisting the Site Manager or designated manager in the delivery of customers’ expectations.

    You will assist in the management and control of the activities on site to successfully complete projects in a safe manner, without waste, to the stipulated quality standards, within the contract period and to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction, whilst developing sufficient knowledge and experience to progress.

    Qualifications Required: 

    • Previous experience within the construction industry would be desirable but not essential
    • Education Level - GCSE or equivalent
    • IT literate particularly Microsoft Office and Excel and keen to extend knowledge on software packages
    • A genuine interest in construction
    • Good communication- Ability to develop relationships with both internal and external customers through strong communication skills.
    • Able to work within a team but also be self-motivated.
    • Good aptitude
    • A desire to provide a high level of customer service.
    • Ability to develop operational and commercial awareness.

  • Apprentice Plumber

    Our repairs and maintenance contractor Wates are offering a job opportunity as an Apprentice Plumber to Network Homes residents.

    As a Plumbing Apprentice you will work alongside an experienced tradesperson to gain experience in maintenance including domestic hot and cold water system installation and maintenance techniques, domestic drainage system installation and maintenance.

    You will attend college one day a week and work towards a Level 2 apprenticeship in Plumbing.

    Skills/Qualifications required: 

    • Genuine interest in learning a trade
    • Desire to work towards achieving a qualification
    • Reliable and punctual
    • Able to follow instructions

  • Apprentice Carpenter

    Our repairs and maintenance contractor Wates are offering a job opportunity as an Apprentice Carpenter to Network Homes residents.

    As a Carpentry Apprentice you will work alongside an experienced tradesperson to gain experience in maintenance areas such as door frames, hanging doors, boxing pipes, window frames and floor joists.

    You will attend college one day a week and work towards a Level 2 apprenticeship in Carpentry.

    Skills/Qualifications required:

    • Genuine interest in learning a trade
    • Desire to work towards achieving a qualification

    • Able to follow instructions

  • Wates Building Futures Programme

    Are you 19 years old or older, unemployed and looking for a career in construction? Apply to take part in our contractor Wates two-week Building Futures programme to gain an insight into the construction industry. 

    Benefits:

    • During the programme you will get the opportunity to learn a variety of practical
      skills through trade taster sessions
    • Visit live construction sites, improve your employability skills and sit your CSCS test
    • At the end of the course you will be presented with a BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Construction.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Unemployed and economically inactive people of working age, including:

    • People who have been unemployed for over 6 months who are aged 25+ (including Work Programme returners)
    • Young people aged 18-24
    • Economically inactive people, excluding students
    • People age 50+
    • BAME groups

  • The Prince's Trust Fairbridge programme for 16 to 25 year olds

    The Prince's Trust is running their Fairbridge programme for 16 to 25 year olds. It's a flexible programme that offers one-to-one support as well as group activities to help you build your confidence, get motivated, meet new people and identify and achieve your goals.

    Starting with a five-day Access course, you’ll get the chance to do outdoor adventurous activities, as well as take part in a residential trip.

    Once the Access course is complete, you can choose from lots of different activities from sports to drama and photography to cooking. We’ll work with you to help reach your goals.

    The Prince's Trust and Thales are running a free four-week programme for young people who are interested in Transport and Engineering.

  • The Prince's Trust Get Started in Cooking for 16 - 25 year olds

    Are you aged 16 - 25, not in education, training or employment, currently living in London and interested in a cooking training programme?

    The Prince's Trust and Food Academy UK are offering a FREE one-week training course, for you to gain a qualification and hands-on, practical experience in cooking.

    Benefits: 

    • Prepare your own lunches and snack
    • Achieve a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification
    • Work as a team to take part in a final group cooking challenge
    • Meet new people, build confidence, improve your communication and teamwork skills Receive up to three months’ progression support from The Prince’s Trust to help you find further work or training.

  • Chelsea FC Foundation's L3 Accountancy Apprenticeship

    Leadership Through Sport & Business and Chelsea FC Foundation are offering an opportunity for young people aged 16 – 21 years old to apply for an L3 Accountancy apprenticeship.

    The programme enables you to raise your leadership and employment potential with a one-year placement within blue chip companies while studying towards an L2 Certificate and an L3 Diploma in Accounting. You will also participate in Sports Leadership and community outreach.
