Training courses

There are a variety of training courses available to our residents. These courses are free to those who meet the eligibility criteria.

Training and apprenticeship opportunities

  • Ealing Apprenticeship Network Programme (EAN)

    The EAN Programme is a 10 week Pilot designed to help you into a job, apprenticeship, traineeship, volunteering or education. You will be given information, advice, guidance and support every week for 10 weeks then up to three months while you are applying for a new career role.

    The EAN Programme is available to interested and committed people who are aged over 16 and living in and around the London boroughs.

    What does Ealing Apprenticeship Network provide?

    • General information, advice and guidance on the vacancies and opportunities that are available and support in the process of applying supported by an experienced, qualified adviser with experience of placing candidates.
    • Group workshops to help you identify your knowledge, talents, skills, abilities and qualifications. 
    • Personalised advice on what type and level of apprenticeship/opportunity would be most suitable for you, based on preference, interest, ability, confidence and aptitude. 
    • Employability workshops with a differing topic each week based on your needs and tips on how to become a potential candidate for an apprenticeship. 
    • Opportunities to network with others within the Network programme.
    • Personalised support within the recruitment process i.e. (writing application forms, sending application forms, CVs and cover letters to prospective employers, support with preparing to attend an interview.
    • Continued 1:1 support after the 10 week programme ends with your adviser to continue helping you into progression.

    Where does it take place? 

    The sessions take place at Perceval House in the Council offices which is opposite the Town Hall. Participants need to proceed to the Staff entrance and sign in at the staff reception.

    When does it take place?

    Every Friday for two hours from 10am to 12pm for the group session and an optional 1:1 personalised session in the afternoon if requested.

  • London Construction Academy

    Are you interested in a career in Construction? Are you willing to attend training courses? Book a training course at London Construction Academy. 

    The London Construction Academy provides training and skills for the exacting demands of working in the construction sector.

    It has been established to help people in the community, not in education, employment or training (NEETS) to develop the knowledge and skill they need to enter the construction sector.

    Candidates Must:

    • Live in a London Borough
    • Not be in Education, Training or Employment 
    • Provide evidence of eligibility to work in the UK
    • Pass a drugs and alcohol test 
    • Able to attend all 15 days of the course
    • Want to use course skills learnt to apply for apprenticeship or manual work 
    • Good literacy skills (Level 1 minimum)

    • Customer Service
    • Manual Handling
    • First Aid
    • Equality and Diversity
    • Environmental Awareness
    • CSCS Revision and Test
    • Job Interview Preparation

    All course fees are fully funded with £90 contribution towards travel expenses.

  • Mental health peer mentoring training course

    Are you 19 years or over and have experienced mental health difficulties? Do you want to get experience, knowledge and skills to empower people with mental illness to make positive and informed life choices?

    Would you like to join a course to help you get further training, volunteering and employment opportunities?

    Come and enjoy a FREE two and a half hour taster session to see if peer mentoring is right for you. You can then enrol onto a four week peer mentoring course to get your mentoring career started.

    QPR players will present certificates to people who successfully complete the course at our celebratory event at Queens Park Rangers stadium.

    This is a Westminster Adult Education Services and The Advocacy Project initiative for Pathways to employment starting in February 2018.

  • The Prince's Trust Get Into Hospitality

    Are you 16-30? Not in employment, education or training? Looking for work in Hospitality?

    The Prince's Trust and Marriott are running a three week programme for young people who are not currently in employment, education or training and interested in a career in the hospitality sector.

    • Get hands-on training in key hospitality skills including customer service, communication and Health & Safety
    • Work placement at one of London Marriott hotels
    • Work experience in departments including: Catering, Portering, Room Service,Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and Engineering
    • Learn about careers and your prospects within the hospitality industry
    • Lunch, travel and uniform provided
    • Receive employability training to help you get into work after the course
    • 6 months progression mentoring support post-programme

  • The Prince's Trust Get Started with Transport

    Are you 16-30? Looking for work in London and currently not in employment, education or training?

    The Prince's Trust and Thales are running a FREE four week programme for young people who are interested in Transport and Engineering.

    Placements available in East and Central London.


    • Work placement roles available are - Human Factors Engineer, Field Operations Telecom Technician, Config Management/Document Control, Mechanical Design, Assistant Project Engineer, Assistant Admin, Assistant Technical Author.

    WAND UK are orgnaising workshops where you are invited to a training session on career progression. Come along and talk to a career expert and learn more.
