Community Champions

Community Champions are residents who work with us to help monitor what is happening in their local area in order to improve services. They can represent a block of flats, group of street properties or a whole estate.

Our Neighbourhood Officers lead regular estate inspections and we invite our residents to take part so that we can achieve the highest standards of service for you.

Champions attend estate inspections and report back to their Neighbourhood Officer on the key issues. They can develop strong links with local Safer Neighbourhood Teams, ward councillors, schools and the local council.

Issues can include:

  • Communal cleaning
  • Grounds maintenance
  • Communal repairs
  • Fly tipping
  • Vandalism and graffiti
  • Abandoned vehicles

Who can become a Community Champion?

To become a Community Champion you must be:

  • A Network Homes resident committed to improving our services
  • Able to attend a half day training course to learn how to grade your estate
  • Able to report to your Neighbourhood Officer regularly by phone or email
  • Able to commit to one year

How to get involved

We welcome all our residents to join us on our estate inspections so that you can let us know what is happening in your neighbourhood and what you feel the issues are. We require our Community Champions to be approved by the local community as their representative .

If you are interested in becoming a Community Champion, please fill out our contact us form.

You can view the schedule of estate inspections by looking at your local notice board or contacting your Neighbourhood Officer.
