Gas Safety Week 2019 - Get Involved

23 August 2019

Network Homes is proud to be getting involved in Gas Safety Week 2019 (16 - 20 September) to raise awareness of gas safety and the importance of taking care of your gas appliances. Throughout the week we’ll be hosting gas safety events to help spread important gas safety advice.

We take gas safety seriously and are committed to ensuring our residents stay safe in their homes.

As part of our annual gas safety checks we inspect your property every year to check and service your heating appliances and smoke detectors. This is to make sure that they are safe and working properly.

Badly fitted and poorly serviced gas appliances are one of the biggest causes of gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide (CO2) poisoning. CO is a highly poisonous gas that can kill quickly with no warning, as you cannot see it, taste it or smell it. It is common for people to mistake the symptoms of CO poisoning – headaches, nausea, breathlessness, dizziness, collapse, and loss of consciousness – with the flu, food poisoning or fatigue.
