Gas Safety Week 2020 – Virtual Drop in Residents Event

11 September 2020

This year Network Homes is going virtual with Gas Safety Week 2020 to celebrate the official 10 year anniversary of the National Gas Safety Week campaign in the UK.

As an organisation we’ve historically always maintained a high level of gas compliance and to mark this special occasion, we’re celebrating Gas Safety Week 2020 from 14 to 20 September with a virtual twist! This year we’ll be promoting and raising awareness around the importance of not only gas safety but fire and electrical safety within our homes.

As we celebrate the 10 year of Gas Safety Week, organisations from across the UK are working together to raise awareness of the dangers of poorly maintained gas appliances, which can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.

This year, Gas Safety Week is addressing a whole range of gas safety matters with a focus on community safety in these difficult times – from advice about how to stay gas safe, to raising awareness of using a registered engineer who is legally qualified, to ensure consumers don’t suffer from the effects of illegal gas work though lack of awareness.

Why is Gas Safety important?

It’s our corporate social responsibility to help protect residents and save lives by completing annual gas safety inspections. We inspect your properties every year to check and service heating appliances and smoke detectors.

Carbon monoxide poisoning affects over a thousand people each year and can be fatal. In these unprecedented times with more residents working from home, it’s important your home and working environment is a safe.

Gas Safety Week – Virtual Drop in Residents Event

Throughout the week we’ve got a range of engagement activities lined up to help raise awareness about the importance of gas, fire and electrical safety with residents!

Our Gas and Compliance team will be hosting a virtual drop-in session event where residents are invited to come along to meet our Gas team, learn more safety tips and ask any questions in general about gas safety. Come along and meet our gas team!
