Network Homes is going virtual with Gas, Electrical, and Fire Safety Week 2021!

06 September 2021

Gas, Electrical, and Fire Safety Week 2021 is back! To celebrate the official 11th year anniversary of the National Gas Safety Week campaign in the UK, we will be raising awareness through educational blogs and hosting a virtual event open to Network Homes residents where you can meet our Gas, Electrical, and Fire Safety teams.

This year, Gas Safety Week is running from 13 to 17 September 2021 and we will be addressing a whole range of gas safety matters with a focus on community safety; from advice about how to stay gas safe, to raising awareness of using a registered engineer who is legally qualified and ensuring consumers do not suffer from the effects of illegal gas work through lack of awareness. Also, we will raise awareness on the need for sprinkler and electrical testing, particularly since the Grenfell tragedy.

What is happening?

Throughout the week there will be a range of engagement activities to help raise awareness on the importance of gas, fire, and electrical safety! We will be hosting a virtual ‘Meet the Teams’ event for residents where we will be providing safety tips and answer any questions around gas, fire, and electrical safety.

We will also publish blogs here on our website from members of our Gas, Fire, and Electrical teams where you will gain an insight into their roles and learn more about how we keep you safe in your homes.

Registration will close at 2pm on Wednesday 15 September and you will receive joining instructions via email by 5pm on Wednesday 15 September.

Access to Teams

To access the live event we suggest you either download the Teams app on desktop, tablets or mobile devices or join via the Teams web version instead of using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. You can download it for free here.

In preparation of our virtual event checkout a guide on how you can join a Microsoft Teams meeting here: Join a Teams meeting (microsoft.com)

*Please note we use Teams rather than Zoom as we have robust security measures in place as our corporate platform which will also help keep residents' details safe.
