Network Homes supports G15 development scheme for BAME managers

15 July 2020

Network Homes, as part of the G15 group of London's largest housing associations, is supporting a new leadership programme for black and minority ethnic (BAME) managers to help develop their potential to become future leaders.

G15 Accelerate is a new high calibre Chartered Management Institute (CMI) programme aimed at BAME operational managers and heads of service. It aims to build a pipeline of talented people, ready to progress their careers into leadership roles, giving them the opportunity to develop their personal leadership styles, confront barriers to progression and learn a range of skills that support their career trajectory.

The course runs over 15 to 18 months bringing together talented colleagues and providing space for reflection, coaching and challenge. It involves masterclasses run by senior leaders from across the G15 and opportunities to expand personal network.

G15 Accelerate follows on from a BAME diversity pledge signed by G15 CEOs in April. It committed them to a set of actions to improve the ethnic diversity of our organisations particularly at senior managerial, leadership and board levels. Work to support this pledge includes a target for doubling the BAME proportion on our boards to 30% by 2025.

BAME staff at Network Homes who are eligible will be encouraged to apply.

Our organisations work across many diverse communities, but our leadership doesn’t reflect this. By launching the G15 Accelerate programme we’re putting our pledge to increase diversity at our organisations into tangible action by developing our black and minority ethnic talent to become the leaders of tomorrow.
