Tara - Worksmart customer experience
Through our Worksmart employment and training service Tara Charles a Network Homes resident secured a role as a Trainee Site Manager with our contractor Denmark & White.
Tara had gained previous experience and qualifications in the jewellery industry but there were limited opportunities to progress as she worked at a small family company. She was looking for a new job opportunity which would allow her to put her supervisor experience to good use.
As she continued her job search Tara received a text message from Network Homes alerting her to a job opportunity as a Trainee Site Manager at a Construction company called Denmark & White. She performed more research around the role and quickly discovered it was an ideal way for her to progress into a new career in management.
Tara soon got in contact with Kamara Jackson our Employment and Training Advisor who encouraged her to attend an interview and helped provide support by assisting with CV updates and interview preparation. She successfully passed her interview and in June 2017 began her new role as Trainee Site Manager with Denmark & White at Gladstone Place.

Since starting her new role Tara has enjoyed learning about the construction site in Ware (Hertford). She said: ”One of my main responsibilities has been to take daily photos of the progress of the site and I have been working alongside Gary Davies (Site Manager) who is very knowledgeable and has years of experience in the construction industry.”

Tara Charles is very ambitious and in the next five years is targeting further progress in a managerial position within the construction industry or property development.
