Safety first: Product recall

12 November 2019

Ensuring you're safe in your home is extremely important to us which is why we'll do our best to let you know of any product recalls we're aware of. There are still product recalls for the Graesslin QE7 Electric Water-Heating Control and  Whirlpool tumble dryers. It's important you regularly check your appliances and systems are up to date and not part of a product recall. If you have either of these systems / appliances, switch them off and stop using them.

Graesslin QE7 Electric Water-Heating Control

Since 2005, the QE7 Water-Heating Control has been part of a product recall for safety reasons. All installed QE7’s must be replaced to bring the installation up to the current required standard.

The Graesslin QE7 Water-Heating Control is a programmer/controller for an electric Economy 7 system. If you think you have one and it has not been replaced, stop using it immediately and contact us on 0300 373 3000, email us at customerservices@networkhomes.org.uk or use our online repair form. New Graesslin units are clearly marked ECOSAVE. If you have an ECOSAVE these are NOT subject to any recall.

Remember, if you have any electric water heater or electric immersion heater in your home and you smell burning, switch it off and contact us immediately. It's always important to have it checked out as soon as possible.

Whirlpool tumble dryers

Whirlpool is recalling some of the tumble dryers sold under its Hotpoint, Indesit, Creda, Swan and Proline brands for fire safety. If you think you might have a tumble dryer from one of these brands, you can check whether it needs to be recalled by calling 0800 151 0905 or check if it's a model with a known fault on the Hotpoint checker (there's also a full list online).

If your tumble dryer is affected, you’ll get the choice either to have it replaced free of charge, to opt for an upgrade from £59, to have it fixed by an engineer or to choose a refund, which will be dependent on the age of your tumble dryer.

In the meantime, please unplug and do not use the tumble dryer until it has been replaced or modified.

Register your appliance so you get notified if it's part of a product recall

You can register your appliance at Registermyappliance.org.uk and you'll be notified automatically if there is ever a safety repair or recall. Register my appliance website also has a list of current products that have been recalled.
