Cristal is in control of her career thanks Network Homes

Cristal, a resident from Stockwell, landed an ‘amazing role’ thanks to our employment and training support service.

Former healthcare assistant Cristal Kungu was looking for a change of career when a friend recommended she talk to Network. She was put in touch with Employment and Training Officer, Kamara Jackson about possible opportunities. The role of a Document Controller came up and following a successful interview and four week trial she got the job

Cristal said: “My job involves looking after all the documents and timesheets which are essential to the running of this construction site. I make sure all technical documents, such as reports and drawings are collected and registered in the system. I notify personnel of updated document versions and how to access them.”

She is studying for an NVQ in Business which been paid for by Henry Construction which involves her attending college once a week. She also has long term ambition to become and an engineer.

“This is helping me gain more experience and get a better understanding of what I want to do in the future.

“Overall this experience has been so amazing and I’m doing things that I never thought I could do and I’ve met some wonderful people. They push you to achieve here and that’s what I love about being here.

“In the long term I would like to start a training course to become an engineer.”
