Aids and adaptations
If your health or mobility needs have changed, we may be able to adapt your home to make it easier for you to live there.
The types of adaptations that we can carry out include:
- adapted showers
- installing stairlifts
- installing other types of lifts (e.g. hoist, through floor)
- installing grab rails
- installing extra stair rails
- improving access to rooms (e.g. making doors wider)
- improving access to your home (e.g. a ramp)
Applying for an adaptation
If you need an adaptation to your home, please contact an Occupational Therapist through your local council or your doctor.
The Occupational Therapist will visit you to assess your needs. The Occupational Therapist will then make a recommendation to us to carry out the works.
In some cases, we may be able to meet your needs in another way, for example by transferring you to a more suitable home.
For more information, please use the contact us form or phone the Planned Maintenance Team on 0300 373 3000.
