Bernadette Conroy appointed Chair of Network Homes

27 May 2016

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Bernadette Conroy as Chair, with effect from 28 July 2016. She will succeed Andy Watson who will retire at the 2016 Annual General Meeting after seven successful years in the role.

Bernadette brings over 20 years of experience working in senior executive and non-executive positions across both public and private sectors covering financial services, housing, urban regeneration, NHS healthcare and education.

She is currently Independent Chair of Buildings and Space Management at the University of Cambridge, Non-Executive Director of Community Health Partnerships, and a Non-Executive Director within the NHS, a role she has held since 2007.

Bernadette was previously Chair of Poplar HARCA (Housing and Regeneration Community Association) and served as Head of Strategic Planning at HSBC for over twelve years.

Helen Evans, Network Homes’ Chief Executive, said: “We went through a rigorous process to make sure we found the right person to become the new chair of Network Homes. We were fortunate to have a very strong field of candidates but it was clear to us that Bernadette’s track record, values and ambitions are a great fit for Network Homes and that she is the right person for the job.

"Alongside her in-depth knowledge of finance and development Bernadette has a comprehensive understanding of the housing and urban regeneration sector. She also shares Network Homes’ passion for supporting people to fulfil their potential in life by proving good homes, and we are delighted she has accepted the role."

Commenting on her appointment Bernadette Conroy said: "I am thrilled to be joining Network Homes and I look forward to helping deliver its strategy for continued growth, working with communities to build quality affordable homes for those who need them the most."
