Network Homes transforms Hertford block into 11 affordable new homes

16 June 2021

Network Homes has transformed an old block of flats in Sele Farm, Hertford into modern affordable apartments.

Colebrooke Court is now called Anna Court with five homes for shared ownership and six for affordable rent with residents moving into their new spacious apartments from July. The refurbishment was funded by Homes England and East Herts Council.

The building, originally built in 1991, needed modernisation. Flats suffered from poor thermal and acoustic insulation, inadequate heating and accommodation that was too small, making them hard to let and subject to anti-social behaviour.

The refurbishment of Anna Court completes the renewal of the local neighbourhood known as The Ridgeway, following the demolition and rebuilding of the 1960s estate. The overall £34 million regeneration has provided 131 new affordable homes in total and replaced large outdated blocks of flats with traditional streets built around attractive landscaped gardens and communal spaces.

Blocks and Streets in the completed regeneration are named to commemorate the wives of the Earls of Cowper formerly at nearby Panshanger Park.
