Get to know your neighbours and provide support for one another

11 December 2020

We know that 2020 hasn’t been easy for any of us as we’ve been disconnected from friends and family to keep everyone safe. Togetherness is important now more than ever before, which is why we want to help you get to know people in your community by accessing or setting up online community forums.

Online community forums and Apps, such as Facebook and WhatsApp groups or the ‘Next Door’ App, are great ways for people to stay connected when they’re not able to physically be together. They’re quick and easy to set up and provide instant communications with the people around you. Over the last few months, these types of forums have been a vital way for people to provide support to others, especially those who had to self-isolate. They’ve also helped people who are facing the pandemic on their own to feel like they’re not alone.

How we can help

You may already have an online community forum for your local area which you can use; you may have created a community forum and would like some help promoting it to your neighbours or maybe you would like to set one up but you’re not sure where to start. If any of these apply to you or you’d like to find out more about these types of forum our Resident Engagement Team can help. You can contact them at get.involved@networkhomes.org.uk or on 0300 373 3000.
