Network Homes to build 69 affordable homes in Brentford

21 December 2021

We're transforming a former commercial site in London Road, Brentford into 69 affordable homes.

We exchanged contracts with developer Howarth Homes on Thursday 9 December with construction to begin in early 2022 and residents are likely to move into their new homes from 2024. The development will contribute to the overall regeneration of Brentford which is currently seeing a substantial transformation and is part of Hounslow Council’s Great West Corridor Masterplan with 1,700 homes planned for the area.

In total there will be 32 apartments for London Affordable Rent, 27 for Shared Ownership and 10 for London Living Rent, a Mayor of London scheme which allows residents to save for a deposit to buy shares in their home. Apartments will range from one to four bed family sized properties and residents will have access to outdoor space with large balconies and a community garden. All the homes are being delivered with grant funding from the Greater London Authority (GLA) as part of the Homes for Londoners: Affordable Homes Programme 2016-2023.

The development is close good transport links with nearby Syon Lane rail station offering fast links to London Waterloo and local amenities including the historic Syon Park. It will also include commercial space offering employment and business opportunities.

We’re really pleased to be making this investment in Brentford which is going through some exciting changes. It’s our latest venture in the London Borough of Hounslow where we’re also building affordable homes in Isleworth, Hounslow and Feltham. This development will provide much need affordable homes and opportunities for local people to get on the housing ladder and supports Network Homes’ overall aim of starting 1,000 new homes by March 2023.
