Local schools visit Churchill’s bunker

10 June 2016

Did you know that we own a secret World War 2 bunker in Dollis Hill? Codenamed ‘Paddock’, the bunker was built in 1940 as an alternative to the Cabinet War Rooms at Whitehall.

Only one War Cabinet meeting was held there during the war as Churchill felt that the conditions inside the bunker weren’t suitable.

Yesterday (9 June), two local primary schools, Avigdor Hirsch Torah Temimah Primary School and Pardes House Primary School, took the opportunity to visit. They were joined on their tours by a very special guest – Winston Churchill's lookalike!
