Maiya graduates to a career at Network Homes

10 June 2021

A graduate scheme has proved to be just the job for Maiya Joi who has landed a full-time role as a HR coordinator at Network Homes.

Maiya is relishing her new position where she will be supporting staff across the organisation with their HR needs.

The Durham University law graduate arrived at Network in September 2021 as a trainee through Charityworks, a scheme that supplies graduates to charitable organisations. The programme allows Network to employ them on a full time, year long basis in various departments across the business. Through the scheme, graduates are given all the skills they need to build a career within the organisation and in the wider housing sector.

Maiya Joi Resized

Charityworks taught me to go for my goals and to lead my own career which gave me the confidence to apply for the HR Coordinator role. The programme teaches you that it’s important to be yourself at work. This is why I love Network because I definitely can be myself here.

She adds: “I feel amazing, I’ve never enjoyed a job more. The culture at Network Homes is great and I really didn’t want to leave in October. I knew I could get more out of working here and Network could get more out of me. So, I was very excited when the opportunity arose and I feel I can be more involved in the organisation now I’m permanent. I’m really enjoying HR and can definitely see myself at Network for a few years.”
