Network Homes’ treasury team named Best of the Year!

08 July 2016

Network Homes has scooped an award for Best Treasury Team of the Year at the fourth annual Housing Association National Accountancy Awards (HANA).

Our treasury team was named best team for a large organisation, which owns or manages over 10,000 homes.

The awards celebrate innovative finance teams and were launched by the National Housing Federation to recognise excellence in housing association finance.

In April we amalgamated our previous four operating housing associations into one, which required the consent from all our funders. Our treasury team tailored business cases to each of the funders, with the negotiations and consent taking place within just four weeks.

At the same time, our treasury team dealt with the introduction of our new subsidiary, SW9 Community Housing.

Barry Nethercott, Executive Director of Finance and Governance, said:

“I’m really proud of our treasury team. Everyone worked tirelessly to ensure that our amalgamation into Network Homes went as planned. To do this, while also gaining consent for our new subsidiary SW9, and further improving our financial strength all in one year is practically unheard of.”

We celebrate more success when our Board member and Chair of Treasury Services, Anne Turner, won the Outstanding Lifetime Contribution award.

Barry Nethercott said: “I'm pleased that Anne has received this worthy recognition after 25 years of service.”
