"I am so happy that I took the opportunity!"

10 March 2017

picture of Karla CollelaAs National Apprenticeship Week draws to a close, we get to know another of our former apprentices, Karla Colella.

One of the recent graduates of our apprenticeship programme, Karla works as an Admin Assistant in our Hertford office and began her apprenticeship in January 2016.

Karla previously worked in our Customer Service Centre, but decided that she wanted to try something new.

She said: “I already had a good understanding of the business but I wanted to do more! I wanted to get involved in projects and make a bigger difference. I spoke to a colleague and she mentioned that Network Homes was soon to be advertising for an Admin Apprentice.”

“The benefits of making that decision and doing the apprenticeship have been so worthwhile. I have gained a qualification in Business Administration and learnt so much more about each of the departments in the Hertford region. Being part of some great projects had really allowed me to see the difference that Network Homes gives to people. “

“I have now completed my apprenticeship and have been made a permanent member of staff. I am so happy that I took the opportunity, as not only have I gained a qualification, but now I am a permanent part of a great Admin team!”

If you’re interested in our apprenticeship programme, keep an eye out on our website for when we’re recruiting again.

We also offer Network Homes’ residents free training and employment advice through our Worksmart programme.  They can help you access a range of apprenticeship programmes including those advertised on our training and employment opportunities page. Contact our Worksmart team on 0300 373 3000 or email them at worksmart@networkhomes.org.uk for more information or to book a free one to one session with one of our training and employment advisors.
