I joined Network Homes back in September 2019 as a Housing Apprentice and so far, I’ve worked with several teams across the organisation. These have been areas such as resident engagement and customer services. Each team has slightly different needs which has allowed me to develop new skills such as information collecting and understanding of the importance of Data Protection. Working at Network Homes has given me a deeper insight into the housing sector and by moving around the organisation and working in different teams, I’ve gained the knowledge I needed to complete and pass all my assignments.
From February I’ve been working in the Neighbourhood Team and I’ve been able to go out on Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) visits, dal with tenancy issues as well as deal with cases on our customer portal.
It was great to see how Network Homes adapted during the lockdown. Like many, I was assigned the task of calling a few people from the vulnerable list to see whether they had the help and support they needed. This was a great way for me to interact with our residents who were grateful for each call.
Overall, my apprenticeship at Network Homes has been a life changing experience. I’ve met some great people whilst being here my hope and end goal is to become a permanent member of staff.
