Fun festive concerts at our Hertford older persons schemes

02 December 2022

Last weekend, residents and their families at two of our older persons schemes were treated with a free private concert from local charity the Hertford Dramatic & Operatic Society (HDOS).

Following their performance to mark the opening of a new playground at nearby scheme The Ridgeway, the local choir gave stunning performances at Calton Court and Bircherley Court. There was a great turnout from residents and their families, with lots of singing, tea and coffee, cakes and festivity. The Mayor of Hertford joined to watch the performances too! You can see photos from the performances below.

This was a great event put together in partnership with colleagues across Network, a real show of one team working, and in partnership with the Mayor and the singers of the HDOS. I’d particularly like to thank our marvellous scheme managers Annie and Sara for their passion and commitment, coming in at the weekend to facilitate and oversee the events, making sure they went with a swing. Thanks and well done to everyone involved.

How lovely for us to meet the Mayor of Hertford and to listen to the beautiful voices of the HDOS, the solo singer was amazing. We all enjoyed singing along to the carols and songs and a few of us carried on singing the song from Oliver Twist. Thank you very much! We all felt happy and cheered up on a grey Sunday afternoon, and the biscuits from the mayor helped!
